The work

What repairs do we handle?

Fringe repair & replacement

Worn or torn fringe rebuilt or replaced — and secured so the rug’s foundation stops unraveling with it.

Binding & serging

Edges rebound or re-serged to hold the pile in. The first thing to go on most rugs, and the cheapest to stop early.

Edge & side-cord repair

Side cords rebuilt where vacuum passes and foot traffic have worn through the wrapping.

Patching & hole repair

Holes closed with matched material so the damage stops spreading — scoped honestly against the rug’s value.

Reweaving

Missing pile rebuilt knot by knot on pieces that justify the labor. Slow, skilled work — quoted before it starts.

Moth-damage repair

Infestations treated, then eaten patches re-piled or patched. A South Florida closet classic — caught early, very fixable.

Fringe repair, by hand

Fringe isn't decoration — it's the warp, the foundation threads the whole rug is tied onto. Once it wears through, the knots start walking out a row at a time. Overcasting binds that edge back down, stitch by stitch, by hand.

The honest filter

Repair it, or leave it alone?

Every repair we quote passes one test first: is this worth your client’s money?

A hand-knotted wool piece with thirty years left in it deserves a rebuilt edge. A machine-made rug near the end of its life usually doesn’t — and quoting the repair anyway would just be billing for billing’s sake.

You get the recommendation we’d give our own family: fix this, skip that.

That answer travels well. Pass it to your client as your own professional assessment — that’s exactly what trade accounts are for.

Straight answers

Repair questions we hear from partners

When is a rug repair worth it?

When the repair costs clearly less than the value the rug holds — in money or in meaning. We give you that math straight at evaluation so you can advise your client without guessing.

Should a rug be repaired before or after cleaning?

Usually the wash comes first — colors can’t be matched on a dirty rug. But unraveling edges or open holes may need stabilizing before a safe wash. The evaluation sets the order; you approve the plan first.

Can moth damage be fixed?

Often, yes: treat the infestation, then re-pile or patch the eaten areas. Small scattered patches are routine. Widespread structural loss may not be worth reversing — and we say so before you spend.
